What are my options as a freshman in college?

Campus based scholarship

As a freshman already on campus at Notre Dame, Saint Mary's, Holy Cross, Bethel, IUSB, or Valparaiso, joining ROTC is always an option. There are often a handful of campus-based scholarships available on a competitive basis. These may be 4-year scholarships or 3-year advance designee scholarships. These are similarly competitive. Campus based scholarships are normally awarded to the most well deserving cadets. You are still required to complete both the MSL 101 and MSL 102 courses. If you want to know more CLICK HERE.

The Indiana National Guard may be able to help

The high price of tuition doesn't have to stand in the way of a great education. The Army National Guard provides financial assistance to students who wish to attend college and enlist in the Guard with two major scholarships: the Dedicated Army National Guard scholarship (DEDNG) and the Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty contract (GRFD). There are other options

You have the opportunity to participate as a freshman or sophomore without committing to the ROTC. This affords you the opportunity to test the waters and get a feel for what it's all about. If you have any questions CLICK HERE
