Combined Field Training Exercise (CFTX)
This weekend training event held in late-March is a coordinated effort between six different ROTC battalions, including cadets from the University of Michigan, Michigan State, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, and Western Michigan universities. These ROTC Battalions combine to conduct land navigation and squad situational training exercises (STX) in order to prepare junior (MSIII) cadets for the summer Leader Development and Assessment Course (LDAC).
This event provides a key opportunity for Notre Dame cadets to gain experience leading and following fellow-MSIII cadets, recieving assessment from non-Notre Dame cadere, and testing their skills in comparison to their peers, simulating an environment similar to LDAC.
