APT (Astronomer's Proposal Tools) is under-going very rapid developement. You are required to use the latest version when submitting a Hubble proposal so basically you should check to see if there's a new version whenever you want to use it.
The package consists of several programs:
The executables are "runAPT", "runStarView", and "runVTT". You can also put this directory in your path or add aliases to those executables. You do not have to copy the software to your own directory.
