Welcome to the official site of the Notre Dame Bagpipe Band! The Notre Dame Bagpipe Band is comprised entirely of students and faculty at the University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College, and Holy Cross College. From our founding in the 1980's, the band has grown and waned over the years but has been growing at a steady pace throughout the late 2000's.
News
March 6 2013: The Notre Dame Bagpipe Band has been asked to perform in the Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Keep an eye open for us!
January 15 2013: Pipe Major Kevin Carothers will be returning Fall 2013, with Pipe Major Colin Patience helming the remainder of the 2012-2013 academic year.
20 August 2012: Pipe Major J.P. MacPherson finished his year as Pipe Major from 2011-2012, with Colin Patience and Kevin Carothers returning as Pipe Majors for the academic year of 2012-2013.
18 August 2011: Pipe Sergeant Colin Patience is studying abroad this 2011-2012 academic year, with Pipe Major J.P. MacPherson returning, Kevin Carothers filling in as Pipe Sergeant and Will Streit taking the role of Drum Sergeant
13 January 2011: Pipe Major J.P. MacPherson is studying abroad this 2011 Spring semester, with Pipe Sergeant Colin Patience filling in and John Kelly returning as Drum Sergeant.
18 October 2010: Its been quite some time since we've had a new post here! Heres a quick re-cap of whats been going on since our last update:
- Under the guidance of Pipe Major Taylor Blachley and Drum Sergeant Greg Robinson, the band entered its first competition as a grade 5 band in the Midwest Pipe Band Assossiation Mini-Bands Competition. The band won 2nd place.
- The band is currently comprised of 8 pipers and 6 drummers, with J.P. MacPherson as Pipe Major and John Kelley as Drum Sergeant
