FNA-Friday Night Activities
What is it?
Friday Night Activities is a student run project of the Children's Defense Fund. The project was conceived to organize students to interact with the children in the homeless shelter in South Bend. Students get together with the kids from the shelter once a week on Fridays for two hours to play games, go on field trips, and just to have fun.
This project was introduced in the hopes that the students at Notre Dame could serve as mentors for the children at the shelter and for the kids to interact with people from a different background with which they are familiar. This project has become very successful, with about 10 students involved every week and about 10-15 kids from the shelter. Past activities have been: bowling, the movies, Chuckie Cheese, and trips to the Notre Dame Campus.
