Environmental problems, such as the ecological and economic impacts of invasive species, require the application and testing of ecological theory to make informed management decisions. I use a multidisciplinary approach to link ecological theory to conservation and natural resources management. This approach includes the application of established statistical techniques, the development of new methodological approaches, the formulation of novel ecological theory, and the communication of ideas between scientists, managers, educators, and the public. The ultimate goals of my research are to present rigorous analysis of ecological data and to provide critical inferences for efficient and effective resource management.
I am a research assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame’s Environmental Change Initiative. I earned my B.Sc. (Biological Sciences, 1998) and M.Sc. (Ecology, 2002) from Montana State University and my Ph.D. (Environmental Biology and Ecology, 2008) from the University of Alberta.
