Cover: Adult albino zebrafish (Danio rerio) were subjected to constant darkness for seven days, followed by constant light for 24 hours. Frozen sections of their retinas were double labeled with polyclonal antisera generated against the red and green opsin proteins that are present in the doublecone outer segments (red and green fluorescent signals, respectively). The constant light treatment results in the double cone cells displaying shortened outer segments and the mislocalization of the red opsin protein to the photoreceptor synaptic pedicles.
