Andrew Rider and the First Irish Systems Team (FIrST) wins the DREAM6 challenge in predicting promoter activity from promoter sequence.
Senior Jake Lussier receives the NSF Graduate Fellowship. Second DIAL student to receive this honor in consecutive years Jake is joining the Stanford PhD Program.

Karsten Steinhaeuser selected for presentation at (and awarded a travel grant to) the NSF-sponsored Doctoral Consortium held with the International Conference on Computational Sustainability.
James Notwell receives the outstanding CS undergraduate award.
Darcy Davis receives the fellowship for SIAM Data Mining Dissertation Forum. She presented her work on prospective healthcare.
Karsten Steinhaeuser received the CRC Award for Computational Sciences and Visualization for work work titled "High-Performance Computing & Visualization for Descriptive Analysis and Predictive Modeling in Climate."
Jim Notwell awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship for the 2010-2013 academic years.
Jake Lussier awarded the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship for the 2010/2011 academic year.
Karsten Steinhaeuser received the Runner-Up Poster Award at the Notre Dame Graduate Research Symposium for work titled "Descriptive and Predictive Analysis of Climate Data Using Complex Networks."
