Junior Men's Foil





Andre Wessels of Germany defeated Victor Sintes of France 15-7 in the semifinal bout.

Polish teammates Tomasz Cieply and Przemyslaw Fogt fight a tense semifinal battle in silence. Cieply prevailed 15-13.






The audience was so quiet during the bout that some spectators could actually take a nap! Actually, this is Kazakhstani Cadet Women's Foilist Zoya Abdikulov's eight year old sister, who has taken up fencing herself.

In a tense battle, Cieply first moved ahead, only to have Wessels take a commanding lead.






A moment later it was over, with Andre Wessels of Germany winning the Gold Medal 15-10.






The German team managed to toss Wessels high into the air. Catching the big German was another matter...
