The Closing Ceremonies

FIE President Rene Roch presents an FIE Medal to Donald Alperstein, President of the US Fencing Association.

Roch also presents an FIE plate to Michael Massik, Executive Director of the USFA in commemoration of the Championships.

The Gold Medal of the Championships is presented to France for the best overall performance.

Rene Roch thanks the fencers, coaches, directors, host federation, and local organizers for making the Championships the successful event they were.

The National Anthem of the United States is played for the third and final time at the close of the Championships.

The FIE flag is ceremonially transferred to a representative of the Polish Fencing Federation, in recognition that the next Junior/Cadet World Championships will be held in Gdansk, Poland in April, 2001.
