Homework assignments

Homework will be collected at the end of your tutorial class on Thursday, unless other arrangements are indicated for that week in the schedule below.

Here are lists of homework problems for this semester:
(1) Homework problems for linear algebra.
      This first part of homework is selected from the textbook:
      Lay, Lay and McDonald "Linear algebra and its applications", 5th edition.
(2) Homework problems for differential equations.
      This second part of homework is from the textbook:
      Boyce and DiPrima, "Elementary differential equations and boundary value problems", 11th edition.

Your instructor may assign additional problems in lectures. Beware that if you have a different edition of the text, you should copy the homework problems from someone with the correct edition listed above because problems differ between the various editions.

*** Special arrangements because of cancellation of some of Thursday's tutorials due to inclement weather. If your tutorial begins after 1 p.m. it will be held on January 31 and you should hand in your homework in that tutorial as usual. If your tutorial begins before 1pm, it is cancelled that day and homework will be due in your TA's mailbox (in the math dept mailroom outside 255 Hurley) by 4:00 p.m. on January 31. Make sure to put your homework in the correct envelope (which will be marked with your TA's name and tutorial time).
* Special arrangements because of Thursday's Math 20580 exam (no tutorial) this week. Homework will be due in your TA's mailbox (in the math dept mailroom outside 255 Hurley) by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the exam. Make sure to put your homework in the correct envelope (which will be marked with your TA's name and tutorial time).
