NOTRE DAME PROFESSOR TO TEACH BUSINESS ETHICS IN SOUTH KOREA AS AN 'INTERNATIONAL SCHOLAR'

Williams, C.S.C., a noted expert in business ethics and associate management professor at the University of Notre Dame, will be spending the 2012-13 academic year introducing Korean student to the concepts of ethical leadership and international efforts to use commerce as an instrument of peace
Patrick E. Murphy has spent much of his 35-year academic career researching and teaching in the area of ethical concerns in marketing, publishing research papers and books about sustainability and corporate social responsibility as far back as the 1970s.
The Institute for Ethical Business Worldwide at the Mendoza College of Business is offering four conference scholarships for doctoral students at the pre-proposal stage who are interested in pursuing research that addresses ethical issues in business. These scholarships will cover up to $500 in travel expenses to attend the Excellence in Ethics Conference to be held on May 9-10, 2013.

Excellence in Ethics Conference Scholarships
The objective of the best paper and dissertation proposal awards is to recognize scholars and Ph.D. candidates, respectively, whose research will further our understanding of the ethical issues facing the business community. Scholars in all business disciplines—including accounting, finance, management and marketing—as well as other disciplines that speak to business issues, such as social psychology and sociology, are encouraged to apply. We are also offering conference scholarships for the annual Excellence in Ethics Research Conference to be held at the University of Notre Dame. Pre-proposal doctoral students who have an interest in ethical issues in business are encouraged to apply. (Announcement and Application)

2012 FRANK CAHILL LECTURE IN BUSINESS ETHICS AND HESBURGH AWARD
The Cahill Lecture followed by the Hesburgh Award will be presented at 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 12, 2012, in the Jordan Auditorium, Mendoza College of Business. 3M will be honored with the Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C. Award. Father Hesburgh will present the award.
