Churchill Scholarship
Encourages the exchange of knowledge and the sharing of ideas in science and technology between the US and Great Britain. This program enables outstanding American students to do graduate work in engineering, mathematics and the physical and natural sciences at Churchill College, Cambridge University. Fulbright US Student Program
Aims to foster mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchange throughout the world. The program funds three types of Fulbrights: graduate study grant; graduate research grant; teaching assistantship. Seniors, recent graduates and graduate students may apply. Gates Cambridge Scholarship
Assists students of exceptional academic achievement and scholarly promise for whom advanced study at the University of Cambridge would be particularly appropriate. The awards are based on intellectual ability, leadership capacity, and desire to use their knowledge to contribute to society throughout the world by providing service to their communities and applying their talents and knowledge to improve the lives of others. Marshall Scholarship
Enables up to 40 US graduates the opportunity to study for two years at any university in the UK in any discipline leading to the award of a British University degree. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.7 for their final three years of undergraduate study. You may apply for this award within three years of graduating from college. Mitchell Scholarship
Supports one year of graduate study in any discipline offered at an institution of higher learning in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Promotes and encourages interest of the next generation of American leaders in the island of Ireland. You may apply for this award after graduation. Requires university endorsement. NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars in Biomedical Research Program

Rhodes Scholarship
Cecil Rhodes hoped to improve “the lot of humankind through the diffusion of leaders motivated to serve their contemporaries, trained in the contemplative life of the mind, and broadened by their acquaintance with one another and by their exposure to cultures different from their own.” Thirty-two Americans are among more than 90 scholars chosen each year to study at the University of Oxford based on four criteria: scholastic attainment; athleticism; devotion to duty to others; and moral force of character.
