What Do We Do?
Our primary goal at CUSE National Fellowships is to help University of Notre Dame undergraduates and alumni apply for (and ultimately receive) national fellowships. We can help through every stage of the process: identifying relevant opportunities, preparing to apply, drafting and revising application material, offering advice to recommendation writers, and practicing interview skills. The fellowship application process can seem overwhelming at first, but we are here to help ND applicants navigate the terrain as smoothly as possible.
What Are National Fellowships?
National fellowships are highly prestigious awards available to students at universities and colleges throughout the United States. They generally provide 1-3 years of funding for undergraduate or postgraduate study, research, teaching, or internships. The funding is meant to help students pursue educational and professional opportunities, sometimes abroad, that are related to the missions of the foundations offering the scholarships.
They are highly competitive, since a large number of students compete for a relatively small number of scholarships, but Notre Dame has a strong record of placing students in some of these programs. The application processes are intense, but receiving a national fellowship will not only provide you with access to unique opportunities but also open up a number of doors that can further your career.
