Hello Future Ducks!!! My name is Shannon McNaught and I am SO excited to be your Frosh-O Co-Coordinator this year. Howard Hall is the best dorm on campus and there’s nothing I’d rather be than a duck! The first few days at a new school can be hectic and scary, but I’m here to assure you that’s not the case at Notre Dame and especially not the case at our beloved Howard Hall. The girls are the sweetest you’ll meet, the location is the sickest around, and Howard Hall’s spirit shines brighter than any other dorm on this amazing campus. So get your flippers on and you feathers flying because you’re in for the best time of your life at this year’s Frosh-O! (…and you’ll get used to the puns, I promise)
A little bit about myself: I’ll be living in a double on the second floor (room 200) with the lovely Emma O’Brien. We love company. At least, I know I do, and let’s just assume she will as well. That being the case, feel free stop by as much as you like or need! I’m originally from San Juan Capistrano, California, which is located in southern Orange County an hour between LA and San Diego. I am a Senior (that’s frightening) Art History major with a minor in European Studies, which only makes sense considering my passion for travel (so if any of you have ANY questions about that, feel free to ask). Just a heads up, I adore my Boston Red Sox above (almost) all else, so if you’re a Yankees or White Sox fan (or just a threat in general) we may wanna avoid the topic of baseball until November. But I digress. I know this is going to be an amazing year at Notre Dame – especially in Howard Hall – and I can’t wait to meet each of you this August!
If you have any questions or just want someone to talk to, feel free to email me at smcnaug1@nd.edu.

Hey Future Ducks!! I’m Katie, your Frosh-O Co-Coordinator, and I cannot wait to meet you all in August! Count yourselves lucky, ducklings, because you’ll be living in the BEST dorm on campus. Located on South Quad, Howard is close to both South Dining Hall and the Rock (our nickname for the fitness center), while La Fun (the student center) is just a few minutes away. But the very best part about Howard is its community. You’ll soon learn that Howard girls are quick to offer a helping hand, always there when you need them, and full of both Notre Dame and Hall spirit.
I’m a junior, living on the second floor, and a major in biochemistry. I work in one of the organic chemistry labs on campus and I’m huge nerd. I love all things Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and movies in general, so if you need someone to geek out with, I’m your girl! I am also Howard’s Music Commissioner, so if you love to sing, play piano, strum the guitar, or practice any instrument, we’d love to have you join us for Mass! I’m originally from Modesto, California, located in the center of the state and just 2 hours from San Francisco.
Frosh-O is going to be one of the most amazing weekends of your lives (well, at least one of the most amazing weekends at ND). If you have any questions, about anything (Howard, ND, college, etc), don’t hesitate to e-mail me at kkraft2@nd.edu.

Hi Girls! My name is Caroline Thomas and I am a rising sophomore of Howard Hall. Welcome to the best dorm on campus, known for its prime location on south quad and its close-knit community, enhanced by its small size. I will be a member of the Frosh-O staff this fall and I hope you are as excited as I am for orientation weekend! On a more personal note, I am from a small town called Medfield, southwest of Boston, Mass. I am a student of the Mendoza School of Business and plan to major in accounting or marketing. Since I was a little girl, my passion has been playing ice hockey. I may even join the Notre Dame girls’ club team this year! I am also a big Bruins fan, so if there are any Bruins fans out there don’t hesitate to watch games with me! I cannot wait to meet each and every one of you this August. Get excited to be a Howard Duck!

Welcome to Howard ducklings! By some lucky chance YOU have been selected to live in the greatest dorm on campus. My name is Emma and I’m a rising sophomore from Dallas, TX. As someone used to VERY warm weather, I can tell you (from experience) that the Notre Dame winter will not in fact kill you. I'm also a Science Preprofessional major and planning on going to med school someday. Notre Dame is the most amazing place to spend your years as an undergraduate and Howard is the best place to make lifelong girlfriends throughout these four years. If you have any questions over the summer, at the beginning of the year, or even during the year, please do not hesitate to come and ask me! I will be happy to help you with anything at all. In high school I played lacrosse and I love all Dallas sports teams (go Mavs!!!!). There are so many opportunities to get involved at Notre Dame and you should definitely try out many different things! Congrats again on your acceptance to ND and admittance into Howard! I can't wait to meet y’all!

Welcome to Howard Hall, the best dorm on campus! It's the best because it's full of the best girls, the best location, and, of course, the best interhall football team. So get pumped for your new life in Howard and get pumped for Frosh-O! Here's a little bit about me: my name is Lily Rodgers, and I'm a rising sophomore. I'm from Edgewood, KY, a suburb of Cincinnati. I'm on the Track and Cross Country teams here at Notre Dame, so I'm pretty much a running junkie. I'm majoring in biology and peace studies and spend most of my time in Jordan Hall of Science- it's my home away from home. I love South Dining Hall food, Reckers' Peanut Butter Energizer smoothie, and Let's Spoon's frozen yogurt (the small, but best froyo establishment in South Bend, and only short walk from campus!). I also love Notre Dame and especially Howard; I can't wait to meet all of you in August...enjoy the rest of your summer and GO IRISH! |
Hey future ducks! My name is Emma O’Brien and I am a rising senior in Howard Hall. I love on the 2nd floor in a room with our lovely Frosh-O coordinator, Shannon McNaught. We are both super nice, and I have more movies than is socially acceptable so feel free to stop by and borrow some! I have loved living in Howard these last 3 years and I can’t wait to share our home with you.
I am a biology and gender studies double major from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. On campus, I am in the boxing club for girls called Baraka Bouts, and I play racquetball and soccer for Howard (I play poorly, but I play. Go Ducks!) I have 3 jobs: I work for the on campus movie “theatre” called SUB (it’s just a classroom with a projector), I am a TA for Freshman Bio Lab (Thursday 2:00pm if you are a bio major, check your schedule!), and I do genetics research on campus for Dr. O’Tousa (a biology professor).
If you have any questions about any of my majors, clubs, jobs, or movie list, e-mail me!!! Eobrien7@nd.edu. We all can’t wait to meet you!

Welcome to Howard Hall, home of the luckiest ducks on campus! We are all so excited to meet you and to introduce you to all the great things that Notre Dame has to offer – the greatest thing, of course, being the privilege of living in the best dorm with the best group of girls right across the best quad from the best dining hall! If you’re not convinced yet, Frosh-O will certainly show you how fortunate you are to be a Howard Duck. My name is Meghan McKinney, and I’ll be a member of this year’s Frosh-O staff. I’m a senior from the magnificent Mobile, Alabama with an English major, a supplementary major in Spanish, and a minor in Education, Schooling, and Society. How, you may ask, does a Gulf Coast girl survive a South Bend winter? Easy! I am almost always drinking a mug of hot tea. I love nothing more than to share my assortment of teas with company, so please stop by my room on the third floor at any time.
Speaking of tea, I spent last fall cheering on the Fightin’ Irish from Dublin, Ireland, the largest tea consumer per capita in the world. While I’m on campus, I enjoy playing basketball, swing dancing, giving tours, accompanying the Howard Hall choir on piano, and hanging out at the Center for Social Concerns. I’m also a research assistant for Professor Johnson-Roullier in the English Department and a wannabe member of the Triathlon Club. If you have any questions at all about getting involved on campus or preparing to move into your new dorm, please e-mail me at mmckinne@nd.edu. I can’t wait to meet you soon!

Hello, Ducklings, and welcome to the best hall on campus!! My name is Sarah Cahalan, and I am a rising sophomore from the bustling metropolis of Logansport, Indiana. I'm an English major, a member of the Glynn Family Honors Program, a semicolon enthusiast, a soprano in the Notre Dame Folk Choir, a Pisces, and a writer for the Scholastic, so if you're curious about any of those things (or anything at all, that list was not all-inclusive), feel free to ask me about them! I will be living in one of the many fourth floor singles this year; trek up those stairs and visit me sometime. I have been furiously stalking the Howard 2015 Facebook group - in a completely non-creepy way - and cannot wait to meet you all in August! I know that all of you will absolutely adore Notre Dame and the fabulous community that is Howard Hall. Get ready to develop an unnatural affinity for all things duck-shaped, and get pumped to be a Howard Duck!!!
