You have waddled your way onto the Howard Homepage, welcome! Howard Hall is a home away from home for about 160 of Notre Dame’s female students…and what a home it is! On any given week, Howard offers a variety of services and events ranging from weekly Mass to entry into zany Notre Dame competitions to a semi-annual bone marrow registry drive. Between planned and spontaneous activity, there is always something going on, and it’s likely to include a sweet treat of some sort! Howard residents proudly identify as the Ducks and rally around their spirited mascot at each and every football pep rally…not to mention at inter-hall athletic games and various hall events. By senior year, many girls boast a small collection of duck-themed apparel and room decorations. Howard residents also enjoy the hall’s unique architecture, which features an arch dividing the first floor and a wide variety of rooming options, and its convenient South Quad location. Yet, the best part of Howard Hall has to be its residents, who contribute their unique passions and personalities to hall and campus life. Sports enthusiasts, talented musicians, community volunteers, research assistants, and retreat leaders live under one roof, sharing a common love for Notre Dame and Howard Hall. Seven hall staff members, along with an active hall council, further enhance the hall’s community life. If you are an incoming freshman, know that we can’t wait to meet you and have you here with us under the dome! It'll be great having all the ducks together in August. In the meantime, please continue to browse our website for important move-in information.
