In recognition of its scholarly reputation in the field of Eighteenth-Century Studies and the strength of its library holdings, the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies designated the Keough-Naughton Institute as a site for a prestigious fellowship. Other fellowship sites include the Folger Institute, the Newberry Library, the Yale Center for British Art, the Harvard Houghton Library, the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, and the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin. These fellowships promote and sustain research into the eighteenth century and are jointly funded by the Society and the participating universities and libraries. This short term ASECS Fellowship will provide a stipend to cover a one month residence at the Keough-Naughton Institute during the summer. The successful applicant will have full access to the considerable resources of the Hesburgh Library. To apply for the Keough-Naughton /ASECS Fellowship, please send a cover letter with a one page proposal describing your project and a list of two references by January 15th to the Director of the Institute via email.
