Faculty Directory--Hugh Fogarty
Professor Hugh Fogarty received both his B.A. in English and M.Phil in Medieval Studies from University College Dublin. After working for Four Courts Press, academic publisher, he returned to graduate studies and in 2005 completed his Ph.D. at Harvard University in Celtic Languages & Literatures. Fogarty specializes in medieval Irish narrative literature and his thesis is a new edition of a twelfth-century Irish saga. He is the editor of two forthcoming volumes of the proceedings of the Harvard Celtic Colloquium and will teach courses in the Irish Language and Celtic Heroic Literature while at Notre Dame.
