Wes Hamrick

Wes Hamrick is a second-year Ph.D. student in English, specializing in the eighteenth century. He is particularly interested in the literary and cultural manifestations of Jacobitism and the sites of interaction between literature in English and the Irish-language literature of the so-called Hidden Ireland. Much of his work has been influenced by the development in historiography commonly known as “the New British history.” This past summer Wes received funding to attend a four-week Irish language course at Áras Mháirtín Uí Chadhain in Carraroe, Galway.
