Viscosity measurements are performed with a Brookfield model DV-III Ultra Programmable (Cone and Plate) Rheometer equipped with a temperature bath. The samples are loaded using a glove box and kept under nitrogen to prevent the absorption of water from the atmosphere.
The ATS Rheosystems Viscoanalyzer is capable of measuring viscosity and yield stress from -10 to 400 °C with a sample size of less than 0.5 mL. The equipment can operate at constant shear stresses of 1.0E-6 to 5.0E+4 Pa as well as oscillatory movement.
The falling ball viscometer is capable of measuring viscosities from 0.5 cP up to 1000 cP over a temperature range of 0C to 120C. It is an automatic system that measures the time it takes for a steel ball to fall between two points.
