The Mathematics and Physics Department of the Second University of
Naples, Caserta, Italy, is offering a post doc position in the field
of experimental nuclear astrophysics at CIRCE (Center for Isotopic
Research on Cultural and Environmental heritage), where a 3 MV Tandem
accelerator an the recoil mass separator ERNA (European Recoil separator
for Nuclear Astrophysics) are installed.
The position is financed in the framework of the project "Nucleosynthesis
in AGB stars: an integrated approach" and it will be focused on the
study of low energy nuclear reactions on C, Na and F isotopes.
The candidate should have proven skills in experimental low energy
nuclear physics, including charged particle and gamma ray detection,
target characterization, data analysis and Monte Carlo simulation.
A basic knowledge of low energy ion beam production and transport
and vacuum technology is appreciated.
The initial contract will be for two years and will be renewable.
