The Design and Impact of Early Childhood Interventions: Results from Colombia

Orazio Attanasio is professor of economics at the University College of London and a research fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, where he directs the Centre for the Evaluation of Development Policies. Previously, he taught at Stanford University. His work involves the estimation and simulation of structural models to evaluate household consumption and savings, risk-sharing, microcredit, childhood nutrition, and housing markets with a focus on the development of survey tools and evaluation and design of policies in developing countries. He has advised the Mexican government on the Opportunides program for the rural poor and evaluated Familias en Accion, another rural program in Colombia. He is editor of Quantitative Economics.
