Talchum at Asian Allure
Talchum is a traditional Korean dance, performed with a Tal, or a mask. Those who sign up are able to perform talchum at Asian Allure, an event hosted by the Asian American Association every fall semester where students showcase their talents representing Asian culture. KPOP
Fanatics of KPOP need not to worry, for KSA has two major KPOP dance performances every year: one for Asian Allure and another for Seoul’d Out. Those who wish to be part of KPOP must attend weekly practices that lead up to the event. Seoul'd Out
Seoul’d Out is our biggest event held in the spring. Any member of KSA can showcase his or her talents (singing, dancing, etc.), of those related to Korean culture. KSA prepares Korean catered food for those who attend the event. This event is open to the public. Fall & Spring Gajok Wars
Gajok, in Korean, translates to family. Gajoks are organized by KSA, where students are assigned to a family for the semester. For each gajok, there are two leaders who must be willing to host meals or meet-up events for the members of their family. Gajoks aim to promote community and inclusion within KSA. Gajok Wars take place every fall and spring semesters, where gajoks compete in a series of activities and fun games. The winner of Gajok Wars is awarded a prize. KBBQ
To celebrate the end of the year, the KSA officer board prepares unlimited, freshly grilled KBBQ for the members of KSA out in the open. |
