Each year we bring in several students from Hungary to participate in research on the Notre Dame campus each summer, and 3-5 US REU participants are chosen to visit the labs of our Hungarian partners and collaborators for approximately two weeks, usually in mid-July. The selected students participate in research at the Jedlik Laboratories at the Pazmany University in Budapest, the Computer and Automation Research Institute, or the Technical Physics Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. This exposure to Hungary and its culture is a welcome and much-appreciated addition to numerous REU program social events.

Summer 2008--Due to funding strictures, I regret that we will probably not be offering the international program this summer.
