The Mendoza College has hired Thomas J. Harvey to lead the MS Administration program. Harvey, who began his tenure March 1, brings 35 years of experience, vision and networking to the position. Harvey, who was president of Catholic Charities USA from 1982 to 1992, recently served as an executive at the Alliance for Children and Families. Harvey also taught nonprofit management at the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay, and he was chosen by the Council on Social Work Education as one of 51 leaders in social work who most shaped the profession in the last 50 years.
“Many of the current leaders in the non-profit service sector are approaching their retirement years,” said Harvey. “Notre Dame has an important role to play in preparing a new generation of non-profit leaders to replace them.”
Harvey has earned degrees from St. Charles Borromeo College in Philadelphia; Gregorian University in Rome, Italy; and Columbia University.
