Stephen Santay

Steve is the epitome of the Notre Dame student. Outside of the classroom Steve enjoys a variety of extra-curricular activities, from singing and touring with the Notre Dame Chorale to building the concrete canoe with ASCE. Steve is also involved in the dorm life at Alumni Hall. He currently serves as Hall Treasurer and plays on his section football team. Also BBQ grill-master, Steve loves a good cookout in the courtyard with his friends. Steve enjoys working out, especially running around the lakes or playing basketball at the Rockne Memorial. He also finds time to work as a student assistant in the engineering department, helping freshmen students with their coursework and projects. This past summer, Steve stayed at Notre Dame to research the effects of sulfur deprivation on plant algae during photosynthesis. He was also in a musical, Grease, at the South Bend Civic Theater, and took a summer elective class as well. Steve plans to graduate from Notre Dame in 2011 and begin working for a civil/construction engineering firm with enough flexibility to continue his world travels. Steve has already been to Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and New Zealand. He loves his family and enjoys spending time together at family meals, especially dad’s grilling and mom’s cookies.
