Enrique Descamps

Enrique was born in Guatemala on March 8, 1990. He is the first of three children in a family of five. He has lived in Guatemala all of his life and has a strong understanding of Nicaragua. He is currently a sophomore Civil Engineer major and loving it. He decided to study in the United States because he believes that an American education will give him the skills he is going to need to succeed in life, and Notre Dame is providing him with the education he expects. He hopes to specialize in structures so being part of a bridge building project is a great way for him to get a taste of what structural engineering is all about. What appeals to him about the Bridges to Prosperity program is the ability to help others while expanding his own knowledge in engineering and the world in general. He is fluent in both Spanish and English, which will be a key asset during the building of the bridge in Nicaragua.
