Tony is a senior from the St. Louis, MO area majoring in Civil Engineering. Having previously lived in Mexico and the Philippines, he has seen how the lack of basic needs can prevent communities from escaping poverty. During a few breaks in high school, he helped to distribute water to poor communities in the Philippines and to build houses in Reynosa, Mexico. At Notre Dame, he is involved with the Filipino American Student Organization and serves as a Resident Assistant for the greatest dorm in the universe, Stanford Hall. Additionally, he is a member of ASCE and Chi Epsilon. Outside the classroom, Tony has developed his engineering knowledge while working as an intern for Clayco, Inc and through two years of undergraduate research with Dr. Tracy Kijewski-Correa. He greatly enjoyed NDSEED's trip to Nicaragua over fall break, and is very excited to put his engineering knowledge to work and help the Via el Carmen community! |
