Terrorism prompts ND, SMC to close
Campuses plan Masses today
Observer Staff Report

Terrorist acts today in New York and Washington led Notre Dame and Saint Mary's officials to cancel classes and all campus activities.

Both schools declared Tuesday a day of prayer. A campus-wide Mass is scheduled on the University's South Quad at 3 p.m today. The College has scheduled a praryer service today at 4 p.m. in the Church of Loretto.

College and University administrators have made counseling and Campus Ministry services available to the campus communities. And officials have encouraged students to remain on campus.

Holy Cross College also shut down today.
