By and large, my tastes run to what author Charles de Lint has called "roots music." (I don't know if he invented or borrowed the term, but I first saw it in his writing and I like it.) This isn't exclusive, though, as you'll quickly see in the list below.

My tastes also seem to run to Canadian performers — what can I say, blame it on growing up on the border and being “forced” by my mother to listen to CBC most of my childhood!

The Rankins

The Rankin Family ceased to record and perform as a group in 1999, when the group split to pursue individual music careers. What might have been a temporary change was made permanent by the untimely death of John Morris Rankin in January of 2000.
