Anna McCoy and Andrew DeVries (The Matriarch and Sith Lord of Swing)

Anna McCoy first joined the swing club at Grinnell College her senior year of college when she met a cute guy who happened to swing dance. Anna quickly lost interest in the guy but fell in love with the dance. After moving to Waterloo, ON Canada to do a masters in quantum gravity at the Perimeter Institute of Theoretical Physics she joined the University of Waterloo Swing club and managed to make her way to Hamilton and Toronto to dance as often as possible. She also started teaching swing at Perimeter (who says physicist can't dance). After moving to South Bend to do a PhD in nuclear physics she joined the Notre Dame swing club. When she's not swing dancing , Anna competes in Latin dance on the ND Ballroom team, loves to swim, bike and skate and occasionally works on her PhD thesis. She also loves to travel, which maybe why she can often be found at swing exchanges and workshops around the country. You never know where you might find her, but it usually not too far from a dance floor.

Andrew DeVries is the longest surviving member of the Notre Dame Swing Club. After four long years, the swing club thought they were finally rid of him when he graduated in Spring of 2013 with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineers. But like a bad penny, he came back to teach swing again this year and do a Masters in Environmental Engineering. In addition to his love of dancing, Andrew has a long standing love affair with his guitar, Zoe, (yes he's named it) and can often be found is some random and unexpected location strumming chords and singing to himself (it may be a sign of insanity).

Laura Simon and Charles Filipiak

Discovering the joys of Swing Club was actually an accident for Laura Simon! Throughout her career in the musicals of her high school, she wrongfully called the dancing they were doing "swing dancing". What a blessing that mistake has been! So, on the fateful Activities Night her freshman year, Laura signed up for Swing Club thinking it was what she did in high school! That was the best mistake she has ever made in her life. It lead her to the best people on campus (the best people are swing people), taught her how to truly swing dance (the best kind of dance), and is the most fun she has ever had in her life (the best kind of fun is swing dancing)! Laura is a Sophomore Psychology major with minors in Philosophy and Studio Art with a concentration in Photography at Saint Mary's College. She is busy busy busy doing homework, working as a teacher's assistant in the photography lab and at Notre Dame's Early Childhood Development Center, and DANCING. She loves to sing, hang out with her friends (the ones she met at Swing Club [because swing people are the best kind of people]) and DANCE. Why? Because Swing Club is the best.

Charles is the strong silent type.
