Binge Drinking

  • FOR MALES - A Binge Drinker is defined as someone who  drinks FIVE or more drinks in a row during a two week period.

  • FOR FEMALES - A Binge Drinker is defined as someone who  drinks FOUR or more drinks in a row during a two week period.

Binge Drinkers are more than 4 times as likely to experience the following than students who use alcohol, but who drink moderately:

  • Nausea
  • Lower GPA
  • Missed Classes
  • Behind in Work
  • Unplanned/Unwanted/Unprotected Sex
  • Arguments/Fights
  • Discipline/Legal Difficulties
  • Driving Under the Influence
  • Accidents
  • Regrets About Drunken Behavior
