NOT THE PERFECT FAMILY - In a place where people talk about Notre Dame as a “family” and many portray their own families as perfect, you may be hesitant to talk about your own family and its impact on you. Living away from home can create challenges for you in terms of communicating long distance. Dealing with stresses and concerns going on at home while you are here is difficult. It’s hard to focus on school when you are worried about the health and/or safety of family members at home. It is a challenge to deal with different expectations you have for yourself versus those your family has for you. Join this confidential group and take the opportunity to work and learn from other students who don’t have perfect families either, but who want to figure out healthy ways of interacting and connecting with others.
THURSDAYS 3:30 - 4:45 P.M.
LIVING WITHOUT ED - This confidential group is for students who want to learn how to live their life without an Eating Disorder. The group provides the opportunity for members to give and receive support around struggles related to food, weight and body image, identify situations that trigger unhealthy thoughts and behaviors and develop healthy and effective coping strategies. The group provides an environment to help students improve relationships with others and develop greater self acceptance.
