Holly Manthei is a sophomore from Burnsville, MN, where she attended Burnsville H.S. She is a lighting fast midfielder who will burn her opponents on a regular basis. Holly took the spring semester off last year to compete at the Women's World Cup with the United States National Team.
In her freshman year at Notre Dame Holly earned All-America honors while leading the nation in assists with 30. It was the second highest single season mark in women's college soccer history. She assisted on the gamewinner in 1-0 national semifinal win over Portland. She scored the game-tying goal in 3-1 regional semifinals win over George Mason. She scored a point in the her first nine games to tie the Notre Dame record and tied the school record for assists in a single game with 4 against Loyola. She had 8 multiple assist games during the season. Holly had 2 goals and 7 assists against Top 20 opponents. She also scored a point in 21 of 25 games. Holly was named to the All MCC team, the All Newcomer team and was named Newcomer of the year. Look for Holly to continue to burn opponents.
