-previous officer board decided that 12 positions would be trimmed to 8 for the 97-98 school year.  Co-Presidents (or Prez and VP), Secretary, and Treasurer retain their duties, but the other 5 officer-representatives no longer specialize in a certain area (e.g. publicity, social).  One of the 5 officer-reps will be put in charge of every event, and they will each have their own committees to help them organize the event.  Two reasons for the change: 1) improved communications...info can be disseminated faster and officers can get feedback from AAA members on the committees instead of having to wait for general meetings.  2)  Encourages member participation..."Everybody can directly influence the event that they are working on, as well as provide feedback for other events.  Make AAA yours and use it to make what you want to see happen become a reality."
