*The Club Coordination Council, a subdivision of Student Government comprised of elected student reps and is responsible for allocating funds to all clubs on campus, held its 9th annual awards banquet:

 

-AAA was selected as Cultural Division Club of the Year, as well as Overall Club of the Year out of over 250 clubs on campus!

-President Paul Nguyen '07 was Cultural Division Officer of the Year

-Priscilla Wong was Cultural Division Advisor of the Year

 

*Multicultural Student Programs & Services awards were determined by a popular vote open to members of all MSPS clubs:

 

-AAA was MSPS Club of the Year

-Paul Nguyen '07 was MSPS Officer of the Year

Legacy

-ND's largest Asian American freshmen class to date (8%, 160 students)

 

-"Beach Bash" picnic at beginning of year

-monthly multilingual rosary

-Thanksgiving dinner that fed 50 people

-two "Pajama-rama" parties

-"It's a Triple-A Holiday" party

-1st "Imperial Ball" semiformal dance

-"InFocus: Voices of Modern Asian America," chaired by Paul Nguyen '07 & Linh Tu '07

-1st "Asian Battlegrounds" at bookstore basketball courts.  About 40 players on 8 teams, and 40 spectators.

-focused on inspiring young Asian Americans to share their voices and pursue their passions, particularly in terms of careers

-guests included ND alums in acting & business; ND faculty and staff of Chinese, Psychology, Finance, and Film departments and Campus Ministry; and keynote speaker Eric Liu, who was a speech-writer for President Clinton and is a current Asian American political activitist in Seattle and current professor at the University of Washington.
