Offices
President
* strong ability to relate to others and draw people together.
* moderates meeting discussions.
* represents club at official functions around campus or appoints someone else to do so.
* works with Secretary to set agendas.
* works with Treasurer on financial issues.
Vice President
* needs all the same qualifications as the president.
* essentially the "executive assistant" to the president.
* helps president stay on top of things.
Secretary
* Chief Communications Officer. Responsible for ensuring clear communication amongst members and officers.
* Records meeting minutes and disseminates this information to the parties that need to know.
* Checks LaFortune mailbox and email correspondence regularly. Communicates important info contained therein to the other officers.
* Maintains club listserv.
* Works with Treasurer to keep dues-paying membership list up-to-date. Besides names, this also includes information such as email address, grade level, dorm, and major.
* Maintains lists (e.g. lists of musicians, graphic designers / artists, multilinguals, other extracurricular activities that members partake in)
* Takes attendance at events (names, not just a head count).
* Saves hard and electronic copies of important documents so that Historian can archive.
Treasurer
* Leads board discussions on budget.
* Helps board fill out CCC and MSPS funding requests.
* Attends CCC and MSPS allocation meetings.
* Responsible for other forms of fundraising.
* Merchandising (if desired by club).
* Gets weekly updates about account balance from SAO Treasurer & updates rest of officers.
* Oversees reimbursements and other transactions to completion.
* Will also oversee the finances of "special" events such as Asian Allure
* Collects club dues and works with secretary to maintain up-to-date list of dues-paying members
Historian
* Maintains club website as substantial resource of information, past and present.
* Archives information about club activities (includes pictures).
* Works with Secretary to preserve hard and electronic copies of documents/materials/information.
* Able to advise current officers by drawing upon the collective experience of past administrations as preserved in the archives.
* Maintains storage space.
Public Relations
* Stays in touch with attitudes around campus and public perception.
* Recognizes how interpersonal relationships can affect AAA.
* Maintains relations with APAlumni, EALC, MSPS, other Asian cultural clubs, etc...
* Oversees publicity & marketing.
* Need not be a graphic designer himself/herself, but should maintain a pool of artists that can be called on when needed to do a poster.
* Other publicity and marketing besides posters, such as Facebook events, MSPS listserv, etc. (overlaps with Secretary in some regard)
* Needs to establish and maintain a reliable system to distribute publicity materials all around campus.
* Will also be in charge of marketing for "special" events such as Asian Allure.
Spiritual Comissioner
* Oversees the planning of retreats if members desire them.
* Needs to be in touch with members’ spirituality and faith traditions.
Service Comissioner
* Incorporating service or charity elements into social or cultural events.
* If members so desire, organizes pure service/charity activities not provided by other campus bodies.
