We hope everyone is doing well through these stressful weeks of midterms,
papers, and procrastination. Perhaps it’s during times like these that we want
to relax a bit and just forget about the troubles and frustrations of college.
Well you guys are in luck. PCASA (the Program for Cultural and Social
Awareness) is planning on holding an Asian Health Expo on March 29 at LaFun!

Now what exactly would this Asian Health Fair include? So far some of the ideas
tossed around have been Yoga, a Martial Arts Demonstration, Flower
Arrangements, Chinese Massage, Tea Sampling/History of Tea, Meditation/Chill
Room, a Healthy Asian Food Expo and more! You’re also welcome to give other
suggestions if you really want something that hasn’t been mentioned.

What we really want to see is the community involved in this event. So if you
and some friends like the idea of the Tea Sampling or want to create the
environment of the meditation room, we want you! You can also get involved with
marketing, programming, decorating or anything else you could contribute.

Keep in mind this is a brand new, never before attempted event and we are
excited to be creative and make it a successful event for both the Asian
community and the Notre Dame community. We value community support greatly and
whether you have had lots of experience or no experience, your inputs and ideas
are greatly appreciated. If you have new ideas you think we should do, shoot us
an email and we’ll try it out!

We want to have an initial meeting on Monday, February 18 at 8:00 PM in the
Coalition Lounge in LaFun. I understand though if you guys can’t make this
meeting so if you have any interests at all for the event and either can or
can’t go to the meeting, send an email to either Mike Lerma (mlerma@nd.edu) or
KristaRose Mijares (kmijares@nd.edu). We hope that this event will be an
exciting one (I mean come on, free massages and tea is really exciting guys!)
We look forward to creating a great event for you guys.

Please join us for a reception honoring Father Martin on the occasion of his Snite Museum of Art exhibition.  The reception will take place in the Snite Museum of Art from 4 to 6 pm, on Thursday, November 29, 2007. Father Martin will speak about his installation at 5 pm.

This exhibition presents 365 graphite drawings. Each of which is a portrait of the same five-year-old girl meticulously created from photographs taken, one on each day, from 2001 to 2002.

The exhibition will be on view from November 25 to December 23, 2007.

In the exhibition's catalogue, Rev. Nicholas R. Ayo, C.S.C, writes:

"We are looking at her, and she in all innocence is looking out at us. She is not an object. It is the viewer who will seem seen. She is innocence itself, because what she is remains who she is. Day by day her face takes on change, raising wonder about what transpires behind her eyes in the depths of her soul. What great love arranges her hair in myriad lovely ways--what hands touch her so beautifully. And what hands will touch her presents an unknown future, both with fear of pain and with desire at the heart of all human consciousness."

The Club Coordination Council awards concession stands to student organizations as a way for a club to raise extra funding.  This year AAA has been assigned to the first home game, which also happens to be the first weekend after the start of classes.  We realize it will be a big task to get this organized during the first week of school, but we're hoping to take care of a lot of the logistics this summer.

Please sign up for a shift NOW.  We will not have the advantage this year of having freshman help since the freshman retreat will not have taken place yet, so we need lots of upperclassmen to volunteer.
