Sample Problem 19.8
Predicting the effect of adding a strong acid on solubility
(a) lead(II) bromide
(b) copper(II) hydroxide
(c) iron(II) sulfide
Br- is the anion of a strong acid.
No effect.
S2- is the anion of a weak acid and will react with water to produce OH-.
