The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle
Dx x m Du
It is impossible to know simultaneously the exact
position and momentum of a particle
Dx = the uncertainty in position
Du = the uncertainty in speed
A smaller Dx dictates a larger Du, and vice versa.
Implication: cannot assign fixed paths for electrons; can know
the probability of finding an electron in a given region of space
