Trends in Electronegativity
In general, electronegativity is inversely related to
atomic size.
For main-group elements, EN generally increases up
a group and across a period.
Non-metals are more electronegative than metals.
The least electronegative (most electropositive) non-
radioactive element is Cs (lower left-hand corner of
the Periodic Table).
