Partial Ionic Character of Polar Covalent Bonds
Related directly to the electronegativity difference (ČEN) between
the bonded atoms
The greater the ČEN, the larger the partial charges and the higher
the partial ionic character (PIC).
Thus LiF has more PIC than HF; HF has more PIC than F2.
