Past Experiences

I took up guitar at the age of 9 to please my father. From that day forward we never got along. He played C&W and I was pre-rock-a-billy.

From ages 13 through 18, back in the 60's, I was a member of the Willow Ridge Trio, a folk group. We won a local talent contest on TV's, "The D.D. Donovan Show." Anyone remember? We played in local bars and clubs in the area from Kalamazoo to the North and Chesterton to the West.

I became an instructor at Mendoza's in the 70's and went to IUSB as a performance major in classical guitar. I taught at IUSB for the Continuing Education program for 2-3 semesters and at Mendoza's for a couple of years.

While in college I was a member of a guitar trio and quartet whose members included Terry Graves, Ian Krouse, and Wing Yee Lam.

I'm able to share some Sound Cloud tracks that were made for my sons to hear their mom play after a 30 year hiatus.
