I joined the University of Notre Dame in 2018, receiving the dual appointment of Assistant Professional Specialist and Assistant Teaching Professor. I joined the Faculty after having completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science in the Spring of 2018, also at the University of Notre Dame.

My research area is in Graph Theory (specifically, with Hyperedge Replacement Graph Grammars), but I enjoy all things computer-related. I enjoy designing circuits and building things for use with an Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi, and have released the magic smoke on more than one occasion. I also enjoy web programming with the most versatile of all programming languages, ECMAScript!

My industry experience ranges from my days as a freelance web programmer, to both salaried and hourly programming positions. I still have dreams of starting a company, and have tons of business ideas (and a few projects that I have started on).

I'm not only interested in computers, however. In my early years, I graduated from a seminary, and also completed a music degree in piano performance, so depending on where you see me during the week, I might also be teaching a Bible study or a piano lesson!

Personal Websites

CS Crunch
My blog for all things CS that I think are interesting.
Evangelistic Piano
A very old website that teaches the basics of piano improvisation in the Evangelistic style (for church musicians). The chord visualization tool was one of the first things that I ever wrote in PHP, and the site runs on Drupal.
