- Eat at the Dog and Mug, have some of their homemade rootbeer
- Visit the Oaken Bucket and have drinks on the outside deck overlooking the St. Joseph river. (not a winter activity!)
- Go to beach (Indiana Nat. Lakeshore or Warren Dunes)
- See the actual South Bend Chocolate Cafe's Chocolate Factory
- Have brunch at the Studebaker Mansion and Museum.(Website)
- See the Oliver Mansion
(N. of Sample Street). It is nice around Christmas, supposedly.
- See the Elkhart Speedway
- Visit Chicago (via South Shore Line)
- Visit South Haven
- Eat one of the 60 flavors of ice cream at Sherman's in South Haven. It is fresh and cheap.
- Visit Bell's Brewery
- Visit Wineries in SW Michigan (Round Barn, Fenn Valley, Tabor Hill,
Contessa, etc. See the trail map.)
- Eat the Stray Dog at the Stray Dog (on the rooftop) (in New Buffalo, MI)
- Go to Grand Rapids for Yesterdog and Meijer Gardens
- Watch the sun set on Oval Beach in Saugatuck and climb Mt. Baldhead in Saugatuck
- Go to cider mills (Wick's especially for the cider fest, and
Grandpa's)
- Go to the Chocolate Garden in Coloma, Michigan
- Blueberry Festival in Plymouth (in August or Sept I think) and Blueberry festival in South Haven
- Visit Nappanee
- Go to Indianapolis
- Buy a condo in St. Joseph
