2025 Northern Indiana Regional Science & Engineering Fair

General Infomation

The Northern Indiana Regional Science & Engineering Fair will be held on virtually on Saturday, February 22. We will be using two software approaches for this event. The fair itself, interacting with competitors and viewing projects, will be done using gather.town. This platform was chosen to give us the closest approximation to a real, physical fair. The link for this gather.town site will also be provided to all judges. Note that this can be accessed only using a desktop or laptop using a browser, as an iphone or ipad will not work.

For the category judging committees and the independent judging committees a spot for caucusing is provided on the gather.town site. To find your spot (say, for the Elementary Physics category judges) enter the room containing the elementary division projects. Then, using the cursor, migrate down to the judges room, and then enter it moving left. Your caucusing spot in this room is labeled with your group name. You should meet with your fellow judges in this caucus spot 15 minutes prior to the start of judging.

For the five special teams (S1 to S5) caucusing will be done on a zoom room link provided prior to the fair. You should meet in this zoom room 15 minutes prior to the start of judging.

The fair will be divided into two sections. Judging for Senior and Junior division projects will be done from 9am to noon, while judging for the Elementary division projects will be done from 1pm to 3pm. All judging will be done relative to ISEF judging criteria made available to the judges prior to the fair.
