Project 5
due in class on Thursday, April 13
Do the following:
- Before the tutorial, download and run through the tutorial script (tutorial 11).
- Before the tutorial, look through the problem listed below, sketch out your solution approach,
and get started writing your code.
Complete part 1 and get as far as you can on the other parts so that we can help you out with any problems or questions!
- In class next Thursday 4/13 turn in your program and output. Don't forget to use the Matlab "publish" command!
The Problem:
In this problem you are asked to solve a time dependent partial differential equation. Ordinarily such problems are very challenging, but if you have a fast computer it is remarkably easy to solve it using a Monte Carlo based technique called Brownian Dynamics. This technique is demonstrated in the tutorial for this week, and as you can make a "movie" of the dynamics of the process, it is a lot of fun too!
