Examples:

Today we examined how to use the probability distribution to perform hypothesis testing: the probability that the true mean lies within some distance of a sample mean, or the significance of the difference between two measured sample means. For small sample sizes, the "t-statistic" which is used to estimate this effect has a distribution which is quite wider (in the tails) than the normal distribution. An example comparing these is found here.
