Assistant Coach Ashley Shannon
Ashley Shannon, the newest assistant coach for Escrime Du Lac, fenced epee for
the University of Notre Dame from 1993 through 1996. She was a member of the
1994 NCAA Championship team, as well as achieving student-athlete academic
honors each semester. Ashley was the recipient of the De Cicco-Auriol Award, given annually
to the fencer who "best represents the team both on and off the strip". After
graduating in 1996, she worked for a year in Washington DC, and has now returned
to Notre Dame to pursue a master degree in English.
At Escrime Du Lac, Ashley will assist with the beginner and youth fencing classes.
