Eleanor Leighton of the US hooks up for her first bout in the Cadet World Championships.






Eleanor Leighton drops a narrow 5-4 defeat to Ana Tulinev of Israel. Eleanor is now 0-1 in her pool.






Eleanor defeats Wing Sum Chan of Hong Kong 5-1 for her first pool victory. She is now 1-1 in the pool.






Eleanor tests bell guards with Heloisa De Lacerda of Brazil before her third pool bout.






Eleanor drops another close 5-4 decision to De Lacerda, leaving her 1-2 in her pool.






After a tense come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Lucy Ann Pearson of Great Britain, Eleanor squares off against the top seed in the pool Virginia Di Franco of Italy. In an upset, Eleanor defeats Di Franco 5-3 to finish the pool 3-2 and seeded 24th in the competition!

Another shot of the DE. Eleanor prevailed 15-10 to advance to the round of 32!






In her next (and, alas, final) bout Eleanor encounters Virginia Di Franco of Italy again. This time Di Franco builds an early lead to which Eleanor has no answer, losing 15-5. Eleanor finished the competition in 26th place!
